| Robin Williams (1952 - ) Robin Williams was born as Robin McLaurim Williams in Chicago. He enrolled at Juilliard in New York to study theater under the teacher, John Houseman, who told him that he was wasting his talent at Juilliard, and should go out on the road as a stand-up comic. In 1978, after a guest appearance on "Happy Days," Robin Williams was offered the part of Mork, for a new series, "Mork and Mindy", a role that brought him fame. Many people know him as the Genie in the Disney classic, "Aladin," a hysterical part that added a lot of enjoyment to the feature cartoon. Besides being incredibly gifted as a improvational comic, Robin Williams has proven to be a talented dramatic actor as well. "Mrs. Doubtfire, " "Dead Poet Society," "The World According to Garp," "Patch Adams," "Hook," and "Jumanji" offer the audience fine examples of his ability to make us laugh and care at the same time. Robin Williams' other film credits include: POPEYE His television credits include: "Mork & Mindy" (1978 - series) The TV series "GREAT MINDS THINK FOR THEMSELVES" and numerous "Comic Relief" shows. |
