Sir Sean Connery (1930 - )

Scottish leading man who's real name was Thomas Sean Connery.

Received first recognition as a body builder. In fact he represented Scotland in the 1950 Mr Universe competition. First acting job was in a stage production of SOUTH PACIFIC in 1953. Sean Connery's film debut was made in the film Lilacs in the Spring (1954) but fame would not come until he starred as James Bond in the first movie of the series, Dr. No (1962). Sean Connery would play the character in seven more films.

Sean Connery avoided being totally trapped in the role by doing such films as Robin and Marian(1976) , Outland (1981) and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989). He was knighted in 1999.
