George Arliss received his oscar for playing Britian's Prime Minister Disraeli who worked for Queen Victoria.

It should be noted that when Arliss won this Oscar it was his third time around playing this character. In 1911 George Arliss played Prime Minister Disraeli on the stage and in 1921 he performed in the silent film version.

ABOUT GEORGE ARLISS (1868 - 1946)

Distinguished British stage actor who's real name was George Augustus Andrews.
